5 style of pakistani bridal dresses

Are you looking for a Pakistani bridal dress?

If yes, then this article will definitely help you. Wedding is an important event in a girl’s life and she does a lot of planning for it.

Sometimes it’s become difficult to choose a right bridal dress according to the season, fashion, color combination and the particular area of Pakistan in which you live.

There are large numbers of Pakistani bridal dresses from which you can select an appropriate one. Following is the list of top 5 Pakistani bridal dresses.

1. Lehnga
2. Sharara
3. Angrakha
4. Gharara
5. Fershi Jora (fish tail)

1: LEHNGA:

The Pakistani wedding is very traditional and same is the case with its bridal dresses. Most of the Pakistani bridal dresses have heavy embroidery on them. For instance, lehnga which is the most common Pakistani bridal dress and is used by almost 80% of the Pakistani brides.

It is similar to a skirt which is worn with the blouse that is a tight fitting cloth that reaches up to the waist but you can also make variations in its size according to your liking. It is worn with a long traditional dupata which is also full of beautiful embroidery and elaborate with heavy work.

In Pakistan, red is considered as a color for bride so most of the brides prefer to have their bridal dress in pure red color or its various other shades. But now many girls like to have it in soft colors like dull gold, peach and off-white.

2: SHARARA:

Sharara is another traditional yet attractive Pakistani bridal dress which is also liked by many brides. It is just like a long maxi with two legs that is filled with beautiful patterns and embroidery specially use on walima day. It is usually worn in summer weddings as it is considered light weight.

Now days, Pakistani designers have made some variations in its design in order to give it a modern look.

3: ANGRAKHA:

Angrakha is another common Pakistani bridal dress. It has its own charm and beauty which is coming back again in Pakistani Bridal fashion. It is particularly looks good on tall brides. It has a flow and a grace in it. It is inspired by Mughal era and mostly brides prefer it on walima and nikkah ceremonies.

Angrakha  is basically a long frock with chori pajama (tights) decorated with traditional embroidesry.  Its stiching style is unique and it is also less heavy. Many designers are now making this frock with flappers and loose pants which look much heavy and stylish.

4: GHARARA:

Gharara is one of the most traditional Pakistani bridal dresses that have a long history. It is worn along with the kurti and a dupata. It looks just like a lehnga but it is basically a wide legged pant and with special effects at the knee with two legs but unlike Sharara its flare is too grand that look marvelous and attractive.

5: FERSHI JORA:

Fershi Jora is the most stylish Pakistani bridal dress. It is the variation in Lehnga and Angrakha style which is inspired by the western wedding dress. But our genius designers have made it perfect for that bride who doesn’t like to wear traditional wedding dress.

Fershi jora is like a long maxi with long tail on the back, spread on the floor from the back like a fish tail. Basically it is a one piece dress(long frock). But again many brides like to have that with a top or small kurti. Its dupatta is in a same pattern and cut just like all other Pakistani Bridal dresses.

Apart from the above mentioned Pakistani bridal dresses, shalwar kameez is also used by some of the brides. Almost all the Pakistani bridal dresses contain Sequins, patchwork, tiny mirrors, Zari embroidery, Zardosi, kundan and pearl beadwork on them.

These are the most common Pakistani bridal dresses use by most of the brides. You can select any one of them according to your taste and demographical region.

Bunto Kazmi,  Umar Sayeed, Maria.B, Asifa&Nabeel, Nilofer Shahid, Karma etc are some of the renowned Pakistani bridal dress designers from which you can  buy your wedding dress. You can also see designer’s details on my other blog 5 best designers of Pakistani Bride & Groom dresses.

Thanks for the comments…. I can suggest you the dress you have mentioned. It is double long shirt with traditional duppata. You can wear it with chori pajama if u want less formal. otherwise Sharara looks more traditional and formal.
